while i was running the other day i thought why shouldn't i set my sites on qualifying for Ironamn HI. so that's what i'm doing - i'm going to push my body and mind further and try and qualify for ironman HI in '06. it's interesting to think that i'm going to begin training now for an event now that is over a year away. the challenge is definitely there; to qualify for the race i'll need to complete a qualifying race and in the ironman distance that most likely means a finish time under 10 hours and to guarantee a spot closer to 9.5 hours. there it is, a goal set out into the future and its a matter of setting the plan and putting pieces in place that will aid me getting there for there is no way that i can get their alone.
it seems easy to set a physical goal - i just pick the race and trackback a plan that will get me there. do spiritual goals work in the same manner? what is a spiritual goal for that matter? in my wharped head it's a little more difficult to pick a career goal to aim for i think perhaps b/c i look to far into the future. picking more immediate goals might help.
