sri lanka
this morning i made an announcement to willow glen baptist (my "home" church)about our upcoming sri lanka trip. to just share a little and to ask for prayer and financial support. i'm not sure exactly what i expected the response to be, but when i check what happened, encouragement from 3 folks, against my unknown expectations i'm come away a little shocked. i guess i was hoping for a little more encouragement than that and well, hhmmmm. i'm not going to make big out of something that isn't. peace.

Adam, it's hard to do what you're doing because there's little in terms of recognizable reward. There will be no fame, recognition, or money even if you're doing the things that this world needs the most--loving. Even if God's people don't always show compassion you can count on the fact that God is looking at you with joy. Our realtionships with people are always hard because our love comes with expectations...God's love is so unconditional...that's why He's so cool. Do what you do! With God as your guide you can't lose!
