dinner

as a result of someone not being able to attend i was invited to a dinner (where I ate the best salad i've ever had) tonight to support and improve awareness of International Justice Mission and their pursuit of aiding those in bondage. tonight we heard a heart breaking story of a thai women who was sold into slavery at a brothel. with tears filling her every word she recounted her story. a story rife with pain that i will never know - her prayers were for rescue and that rescue manifested itself in International Justice Mission.

Sitting there I couldn't help but think of all suffering people around the world, it brought me back to Sri Lanka, to stories of Jen and Jason's trek to Ghana and all I could think about was selling my stuff to be able to give the money to those that need it for more than I do. To sell it get on a plane and seriously commence being the hands and feet of Jesus in a yearning world.

i'm being transformed as i type this, to perceive generosity in a new way, to continue in my pursuit on taking Jesus seriously and meeting the needs of the world's poor.
