Update:
In our spiritual journey, our life journey, we run into myths and legends that encompass our soul and tempt us. They tempt us to run, to rebel, to lash out against the lesson at hand. Merely enduring a trial robs us of enjoying the fruit of growth. The choice is there to rise up and engage, to peer out into surroundings, into the influences, the voices, the circumstances and pray our way into the lesson before us. There is work to be done; stretching, growing, learning to absorb. God will not give up on us, if we don't embrace it now and enjoy the blessing that inevitably comes then we set ourselves up uto repeat this same lesson. Again and again until we realize it, He wants to bless, to give us eternity present - let us then work with Him doing our part.
Trials are not meant merely to be endured; such a stance robs us of learning the lesson at hand. We must do the work, to learn, stretch and grow. Then the fruit of growth appears and can be enjoyed. If we merely endure the lesson goes unlearned and will no doubt reappear in another trial until we finally get it.
(this 2nd part comes from a recent converstaion w/ my dad)
The blood lines infuse us with seeds that grow from within regardless of our intention. Our role comes in how we treat the growth. We have the opportunity to understand the roots, the DNA of the plant that will enable us to properly care for and nuture that which informs pieces of who we are.
