Ingenuity beyond the recognition of here and now permeates this morning....the spirit was cranky this morning, then suddenly in the silent car a burst of song, no radio, only me the driver filling the empty space.....spirits lifted....yesterday we walked into Tartine and wished to have a few slices of fresh warm baked bread. "Sorry sir, you have to buy the whole loaf" was the response - bummer. Ordered a Pan au chocolat and made our way outside to sit in the radiating glow of the sun. A stranger, in his oversized hipster glasses, pant legs cuffed up to accomodate riding his bike, chimes into our conversation "Would you guys like some of this bread - it's fresh, warm right out of the oven, this loaf is huge and there's no way I'll be able to eat it all." Sure.

A few hours ago it was a bit melancholy and now there's a vibration resonating inside, there is a source of energy that transcends material nutrition, and physical rest, which amazes me. Last night I was tired - seriously my body was tired and I don't think I slept enough, and yet............oh and did I mention the hippos??
