Over the last few weeks maybe even months, as time seems to fly by faster than I realize, I've been contemplating my sensitivity to the spiritual forces at work. I've heard about spiritual warfare from the time I was 6 or 7 but the conversations have mostly been passing only mentioning the existence of such a reality. Last year at this time however I was confronted very personally with the reality of it all as Steve, Andy and I spent 3 weeks in a refugee camp in Sri Lanka. The tension was visible.
The other day I had a conversation with Hal, an older man living on the streets, and we got on the topic of spiritual realities and the way he talked made it evident that this was not fanciful talk but an element of life that he has and continues to encounter. Yesterday while driving home I had the strong feeling that there is a lot to do in this arena - as a follower of the way if I seek to be a healer and peacemaker then I should aim to deal with the unrest on the level that it exists the deepest.
I feel like there is something deep and elemental here but can't quite explain it.....
update:
I just went on a walk with a friend and through talking about life experiences and growth he brought up spiritual warfare. It's time to do whatever necessary to have our eyes opened to this vast landscape which makes up more of our lives than I sometimes recognize. Let us be sensitively resolute in our love for people that......

it is very true, and often forgotten. it's very effectual, atleast temporarily, when we remember that we dont fight against flesh and blood.
