one nugget from today - movies and television reflect society while music and i would add the internet (technology) have the ability to shape our society. these then would be the medium through which i would think God's prophets would be using to "speak" into being the reality of God's kingdom. no coincidence then that much of the emerging church leaders/prophets maintain blogs and try to harness technology.
on the music scene i see it more in hip-hop then anywhere else Common, kanye, mase.
what about places? can places be used as a medium for shaping society - i think we'd all agree academia has a certain influence, but what about a more democratized place - is this where the "new monastics" would fit? what about our homes?

glad you got some rest. i like your line of thinking in relation to yesterday's time with Barry. i wonder how what we did with joe and space would play into the "shaping" of places in cultural formation - you mention homes and new monastics. i think you should push this out a little bit as it helps create an intersection with with Barry describes and what you have been thinking throuh over the past year (at least).
