what are we looking for, chasing after, seeking out, wrestling with that places a thin barrier to committing to something in the here and now. last year after many conversations with different circles of friends we all gathered realizing we were seeking something similar, but it didn't last. There was something there that prohibited a cohesive committment. there was another time when a group of us seemed to be tracking on something, something that had potential for good results in our lives as well as in the lives of others but there was no realization; Let your mind run through your own experiences. Even now I'm involved in a group with some great potential and I find myself questioning whether I want to commit. I'm not looking for answers for this phenomenia for the answers are as varied as the people involved. Something strikes me though - the idea of commitment or the realization of things. I've heard it said if it was meant to be it'll happen - will it?
I believe the answer to this question is immersed in the back drop of God's story - we're placed into a context that instills unhealth into the wholeness of ourselves. it's the nature of our world, Jesus came to proclaim redemption, a new way being, a way to move toward things we were created for. If it is meant to be will it happen? If those involved are seeking the way I believe it will, but we must seek the way. Seeking is meant to be a community effort, Jesus gathered multiple disciples, he sent them in groups, in two's, he said when two or more are gathered, there is a strength in numbers, an exponential increase in impact, in growth, in love, in energy. This has really been brought into focus for me the last few weeks. Mark tell of one instance here, the last paragraph really sums it up.
would you tell a plant if you were meant to grow and thrive then you will and then never water it or give the proper lighting?
in our lives may we seek the way, and may we seek it in soladarity with fellow travelers.
