all of last week I was houseboating at Lake Trinity in northern CA with my mom, dad, brothers, sisters, great Aunt & Uncle and cousins. So while there were scorching temperatures it wasn't too bad considering we could swim whenever we wanted. I found myself at once wanting to engage in "deep" conversations and at the same time intentionally not going there to keep it a true vacation. On a couple of occasions I got to hear family history from my aunt and it brought up once again my desire to learn more of where I come from and my lineage. For Christmas this past year my aunt gave me some newspapers articles about some of my family in Sicily - mafia related news. My aunt has a fascination with the cosa nostra and I think I inherited some of it from her. Our heritage has a lot to do with who we are - it's not only our immediate families that shape who we are but also our extended heritage. It's all correlated interconnected mystery of some mystical plan where "the and place of time of existence was set in the beginning."
When I get the pictures from our trip I'll elaborate more about wakeboarding, potatoe guns, whip-lashed necks, and extreme tubing.
